Angie Shockley, Founder & CEO

Angie Senic Shockley

Angie Senic Shockley has worked with at-risk children for most of her 20-year career and has taken that passion into the young adult marketplace as the founder and CEO of Q&A Associates. Angie began her career at Elkins Mountain School, a placement for adjudicated youth in West Virginia serving as both a teacher and the principal.

Angie left Elkins Mountain School to accept a position as Principal and later Executive Director of Alldredge Academy, a private wilderness program also located in West Virginia. As principal, she gained NCACASI Accreditation for the academic phase of Alldredge Academy and helped drive the organization to become one of the largest and most successful programs in the industry.

After many successful years at Alldredge, Angie accepted a position with Eckerd Youth Alternatives as Director of the Private Academies, running admissions and marketing for the EYA Private Academies.

Angie is an individual affiliate member of the National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs (NATSAP). She currently serves as the Chair of the National Association of Therapeutic Wilderness Camping (NATWC) and is very active on all levels of the organization. Angie is very committed to the continued development and improvement of outdoor treatment program models within the industry. Angie holds a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from West Virginia University.

Sandy Schmiedeknecht, RN, MA Certified Life Coach

Sandy Schmiedeknecht brings a depth to Q & A Associates that is not only grounded in professional expertise, but in her amazing life experiences. Sandy heads up the life skills curriculum for the Q&A programs in West Virginia including Journey to Authentic Self, Cabin Mountain Living and Applewood Transitions.

Sandy has harnessed her sense of care for others into focus for serving young people and families who are experiencing challenges with transitions. After a full career in nursing, she was instrumental in the development of a therapeutic program and then serving as their Admission, Marketing and Alumni Service Director. After a lengthy service, she designed, developed and implemented several unique aftercare services for therapeutic programs. Sandy has been active in creating alumni services promoting connections for graduates and fundraising for those who are in need of financial support for aftercare. She extends beyond her professional contributions through her volunteerism as demonstrated by Sandy's leadership and fundraising efforts in her local community and for national organizations. Her commitment to God reveals in her selflessness and passion for life and the wellness of others. A graduate of Liberty University, she is currently furthering her education towards a Masters in Human Services, Marriage and Family Counseling.

Audrey Peavey, Director of Marketing & Admissions

Audrey Peavey serves as the Director of Admissions for the family of programs under the Q&A Associates organization. Her role is to educate the marketplace on all Q&A services and act as the front-line contact for clients and referral sources.

Audrey has engaged with many parents as they have made the difficult decision to seek help and treatment for their adolescents or young adults who are in crisis. Audrey served for four years as a Client Services Manager for Right Directions Crisis Intervention, an independent company providing intervention services, transports and runaway location investigations to families in crisis and need.

Prior to Right Directions, Audrey spent 7 years coordinating admissions for New Horizons, an outdoor therapy program for adolescent girls. In this capacity, she became the front-line contact for all prospective clients as well as referral professionals. In order to educate the marketplace, Audrey designed and executed a marketing plan including presence at trade organizations, advertising and website design, referral relationships and publications strategies.

Keith Bishop, Director of Operations

Keith Bishop is the Director of Operations for Q & A Associates in Davis, West Virginia. Keith came to Q & A two years ago after serving as the Assistant Facility Director at Eckerd Academy of the Blue Ridge, a Therapeutic Boarding School. Keith began his journey of working with at-risk youth and their families at the Appalachian Wilderness Camp in Cleveland, GA., a state owned Outdoor Therapeutic Program. He has been in this field for over 10 years.

Keith enlisted in the Air Force and served as a Life Support/Survival Specialist after graduating Pickens County High School in Jasper, Georgia. After Desert Storm and 12 years active duty, Keith entered the private sector and served several leadership roles in companies in the Georgia Region. Keith found a home in the woods with the State Outdoor Therapeutic Program in Cleveland Georgia, as a counselor in the woods with adjudicated youth. Serving in various roles, Keith progressed to a position of leadership in the State Outdoor Therapeutic Program.

As one of several talented individuals hand picked to create and establish a Private Therapeutic Boarding School in the Mountains of North Georgia, Keith was critical in taking Eckerd Academy of the Blue Ridge from a start up program to a successful and clinically sophisticated outdoor therapeutic model. As Assistant Facility Director, he supervised and mentored staff in clinical, facility and programmatic growth. Keith is currently a Board Member of the National Association of Therapeutic Counseling (NATWC), serving as Treasurer.
